The Primary Passport

At Ark Atwood we work hard to develop academic excellence alongside other skill and character traits that will allow our students to flourish in the wider world. Alongside knowledge, children’s experiences of the world help to shape their understanding, appreciation and view of it. The Ark Primary Connections programme sets out the experiences that we believe all Atwood children should receive and be entitled to throughout their time here.

All experiences are a series of interactions and/or connections that allow our pupils to engage with the world around them. The experiences are broken down into six core areas:

• Connecting with Nature - Environmental Awareness
• Connecting with People & Places - Citizenship and Community
• Connecting with Self - Wellbeing and Personal Growth
• Connecting with Your Future - Enterprise and Careers
• Connecting with Culture and the Arts - Presentation, Performance & the Arts
• Connecting with Adventure - Adventure, Challenge & Competition

The Primary Connections poster is displayed in every classroom at Atwood, and classes tick off when they have completed one of the experiences. By the time they finish at Atwood, our pupils will have collected over 40 memorable experiences.
