Today marks the last day at Atwood for our Year 6 cohort.
They really are a great group of children – hard working, full of character and a credit to themselves. I have spent a fair amount of time with them this year, including on the residential, and I can confidently say they are ‘secondary ready’ and set up to do well at the next stage of their education. Many have already visited their new schools and shared their excitement and enthusiasm. Please encourage them to keep in touch!
We are also sadly saying goodbye to two teachers this summer – Amelia Buchanan-Taylor will be moving to a school nearer home and Carmen Alcazar is going to be returning to Spain to be with her family next academic year. They have both made huge contributions to our school over a number of years - a massive thank you from me for all they have done for the children and our school community. We are also saying goodbye to some of our excellent teaching assistants – another huge thank you to Antonia Pata, Shauna McHugh, Katherine Burela and Emily Wheeler.
